Alumni Board
Stewardship; Leadership; Accountability.
Introduction
The Alumni Board exists to:
• Provide leadership and governance for the global Edwardian alumni community;
• Coordinate and support the work of alumni chapters;
• Serve as a bridge between alumni, school leadership, and Endowment governance;
• Advance strategic initiatives that strengthen St. Edwards Secondary School;
• Promote transparency, accountability, and disciplined execution;
• Preserve Edwardian history, traditions, and institutional values.
The Board operates with a clear understanding that leadership is not positional; it is a responsibility to serve.
Purpose of the Alumni Board
Alumni chapters exist to:
• Foster fellowship and lifelong connection among Edwardians;
• Support students, faculty, and school leadership;
• Coordinate alumni engagement and communication;
• Advance the Edwardian Endowment and campus rehabilitation efforts;
• Preserve Edwardian history, traditions, and values;
• Represent St. Edwards with pride, discipline, and integrity.
Edwardians have long been recognized as pace setters for the greater good; alumni chapters serve as the organizational foundation for that leadership.
Alumni Board & the Endowment
The Edwardian Endowment is a stand-alone financial institution; its success, however, depends on disciplined coordination across alumni leadership structures.
The Alumni Board works in collaboration with Endowment governance to:
• Support long-term financial sustainability;
• Align alumni engagement with the School’s Strategic Plan and Campus Master Plan;
• Ensure responsible stewardship of resources;
• Promote trust, transparency, and donor confidence.
Through unified leadership, the Alumni Board helps ensure that Endowment resources are applied with clarity of purpose and measurable impact.
Board Responsibilities
The Alumni Board’s responsibilities include:
• Setting alumni engagement priorities and strategic direction;
• Supporting chapter leadership development and coordination;
• Overseeing alumni-led initiatives and committees;
• Encouraging broad participation across generations of Edwardians;
• Upholding ethical standards and Edwardian values;
• Serving as ambassadors of St. Edwards Secondary School globally.
Composition & Service
The Alumni Board is composed of Edwardians who bring diverse professional experience, geographic representation, and a shared commitment to service.
Board members serve with the understanding that stewardship of the Edwardian legacy requires time, discipline, collaboration, and humility.
Working Committees
To carry out its mission effectively, the Alumni Board works through standing and ad-hoc committees, which may include:
• Finance & Endowment Support;
• Communications & Outreach;
• Membership & Chapter Development;
• Events & Alumni Engagement;
• Governance & Ethics.
Committees operate under Board oversight; collaboration, not duplication, guides all efforts.
Call to Service
Edwardians who wish to contribute their time, expertise, or leadership are encouraged to engage through chapters, committees, or Board service when opportunities arise.
Leadership at St. Edwards has always emerged from service; the Alumni Board exists to nurture and guide that tradition.
The Alumni Board stands as a guardian of Edwardian values and a steward of our shared future.
Through thoughtful leadership, disciplined coordination, and collective responsibility, the Board helps ensure that St. Edwards Secondary School continues to educate, inspire, and lead.
Service is our duty; stewardship is our legacy.
